Director’s Talk & Cast Q&A

Weds 29th March 2017 @ 6pm

To celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, Join Joanna Carrick, Red Rose Chain’s Artistic Director (and Lady Bracknell herself!) to hear all about the process of re-imagining Wilde’s world-famous comedy The Importance of Being Earnest, alongside fellow cast members Leonie Spilsbury and Joanna Sawyer talking about their feisty fictional counterparts Cecily and Gwendolen. The talk is free for ticket holders so whether you come along for the talk post-show after the 3pm matinee, or pre-show before the 7:30pm evening performance, it’s a special event not to be missed!

Mother’s Day Matinee & Afternoon Tea

Sunday 26th March, 2pm onwards

“All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That’s his.”

Treat your mother to some of the finer things in life this Mother’s Day chaps! You won’t have to worry about running out of cucumber sandwiches if you opt for a spot of scrumptious Afternoon Tea before the show, and to help her feel extra special, all mothers get a FREE small posy of flowers on arrival!

Then settle in to share plenty of laughter together at our 3pm matinee show. Splendid!

An unbelievable, immersive tale, guaranteed to delight dapper ladies and gents throughout the land!

It’s Oscar Wilde’s world-famous play – new and re-imagined! The Importance of Being Earnest is widely regarded as one of the funniest plays in the English language, bursting with wordplay, wooing and waltzes!

Joanna Carrick’s interpretation will take you on a surreal journey through the heightened absurdity of Wilde’s words, hilariously distorting the lens through which we view the past. Cucumber sandwich anyone?

Laurence Pears (The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, The Magic Fishbone, Comedy of Errors) and Lawrence Russell (Mr Tod, Richard III, star of Theatre in the Forest) are joined by multi-talented newcomers to Red Rose Chain – Leonie Spilsbury and Joanna Sawyer, along with Joanna Carrick as Lady Bracknell and the legendary Antony Carrick as Merriman! This is a dream comedy team not to be missed!
