Support Us

You already know by now that we don’t just make plays. We’ve always seen ourselves as part of the local community, and we spend a lot of our time meeting people from all over the place, teaching them creative skills, building their confidence, giving them a chance to have a voice and showing how art can really change lives.

We need all sorts of partners to help our work grow. You could be a business or individual with skills that we can make use of, a supplier who can help add value to our projects, or maybe you are in a position to commission or fund our work – we’d love to hear from you.

We have small projects that need support as well as big ones. Whether we are working with a smaller group of disadvantaged participants or putting on a play to thousands of theatre fans,
we can use your help. We want to expand our work to reach more people, and continue to create bigger impact with higher quality projects.

Our seat Campaign

We are overjoyed to have been awarded funding from Arts Council England towards our seating. Now we are closer than ever to reaching our goal of having plush, flexible seating for The Avenue – good news for everyone!

For a donation of £230, you or your company will support our work and have a permanent presence at the heart of The Avenue Theatre by funding one of only 110 named seats in the venue!

The seating will be demountable tiered upholstered bench seating, with backrests to seat up to 110 people in a variety of configurations. Allowing us to develop The Avenue with comfort, flexibility and a real feeling of community.

So far 40 have been claimed – We would like to thank Emma Freud, Jimmy & Caela Doherty, Steve Curzon, Paddy & Sarah Bishopp, the Bell family, Pauline Norman, John Newborn, Anila & Simon Commercial, Inga & Tim Lockington, Lattice Lodge, Ipswich Town & Waterfront, the Carey family, DP Agency Ltd. (timber & timber products), Rory Burrow, John & Anne Pickering, Georgina Hanser, Pete&ValDavison, Rev John Cotton, Chester Ward, Goodall Family, Gecko, Scarfe Trust, Hawksmoor Investment Management, nonsuchdjs, Farthing Funeral Service, 14 Forest Friends, Jennifer Barker, PMG Plumbing & Heating, Penny Pilates, Chris Richardson, Bill & Kath, Paul and Teresa Jennings, Toothbrush Apartments, Honey+Harvey, Wilcock Family and Richard and Jean Pittaway for their support.

If you would like to buy a seat, please contact Sarah directly (, or give our Box Office a call (01473 603388) or pop into The Avenue and add your name to our official seating chart!

Thank you!

You can now support us whenever you shop, through iStreet!

In a nutshell, iStreet supports carefully selected charities and not-for-profit good causes like us by harnessing the wonders of modern technology, they have over 1,200 retailers signed up to their platform who give a donation every time you shop online, and the list is still growing! Yep, when you get a sudden urge to ‘browse’ for new pair of shoes, do the weekly food shop, or even as you stealthily pick out people’s Christmas presents (we won’t tell anyone about the fluffy bunny slippers) YOU can help us to raise money to go towards our community work by shopping through Istreet. Neat huh!

How does it work?
It’s dead simple. The proof of this is we’ve already got people signed up as supporters (including members of our team) and have raised just over £120 so far – not bad at all, but we know there’s a LOT of RRC fans out there, so we’d be silly not to ask.

To prove just how simple it is, here is the 3 step guide to donating – in Hamish’s own words:

1) Sign up as a supporter of Red Rose Chain on iStreet

2) Once registered, go to iStreet’s ‘Shop’ page and click on the retailer’s site you’d like to visit

3) You will be re-directed to that site, shop as you normally would and when you check out the retailer will make a small donation which goes to Red Rose Chain via iStreet!

You can also see how much you are raising as you shop, and if you want, you can download their browser extension which means a little box will pop up each time you visit the page of a retailer that is part of the initiative – asking if you’d like to activate iStreet donations without even having to go through them directly.

So there you have it, if you want to sign up as a supporter, that would be amazing; the more supporters we can get on board who use iStreet on a regular basis the more we can put back into and expand our community work in a big way, doing something we all do anyway!
