Theatre in the Forest AT HOME!
Theatre in the Forest 2020
This year, Red Rose Chain’s much loved annual summer Shakespeare event happened with a difference – Theatre in the Forest at Home!
Over 5,000 of you joined us for our special live stream of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night raising over £20,000 to secure the future of our incredible community programme at Red Rose Chain, helping us to change the lives of young people and adults with disabilities in our community.
Shipwrecked on the Island of Illyria, twins Viola and Sebastian are separated, each assuming that the other is drowned. When Viola disguises herself as a boy to work for the Count Orsino, a hilarious comedy of mistaken identity and misunderstandings unfolds, full of passion, revenge and yellow stockings!
Reviews for Twelfth Night at Home!
“What the tiny Ipswich company, Red Rose Chain, has achieved here in the time of social-distancing is so oddly brilliant … You’re unlikely to find a more uplifting show in this strange, frustrating summer.”
Libby Purves, Theatre Cat
“Absolutely loved this quirky, fun production. Enticed our two teenagers out of their bedrooms and brought the family together. Congratulations on such a positive production in such difficult times.”
“This production has lavish scenery painted in an almost cartoon style and the players costumes have a hand-drawn effect too. As you would expect from Red Rose it’s always imaginative but this year they’ve had to try that little bit harder…. it’s been worth it! Full Marks for Creativity.”
