Chainers – lockdown

The Chainers Youth Theatre

Lockdown Shakespeare!

The Chainers Youth Theatre is a group that develops the skills and confidence of young people through performance.
During Lockdown, The Chainers have continued their workshops online, meeting to work on scripts, characters and create short performances based on Shakespeare’s play, PERICLES. Of course these performances are a little different, but The Chainers have creatively used the zoom squares to make amazing theatre together even when we are all apart!

The Chainers created a short film with scenes from PERICLES which they filmed remotely and edited together by one the Chainers, Ted!

Virtual Volunteering!

The Chainers have also volunteered virtually as part of our digital productions, including welcoming audiences in our pre-show for  THEATRE IN THE FOREST AT HOME!

Ellie has volunteered on our under 5s project, creating resource packs for JACK AND THE BEANSTALK which were posted to 900 deprived families in Ipswich! She also volunteered on ALICE IN WONDERLAND, as did Rei who helped Katy design and create the hand-painted props for the production!
